Songs I listen to while writing

Music plays an important part in my life and I have let that love bleed over into my writing. I often have characters speaking song lyrics. I tend to listen to a variety of songs when I’m writing from all sorts of genres and times.

Here’s a list of songs that put me in the writing zone:

Buffalo Springfield – For What Its Worth

Jefferson Airplane – White Rabbit

The Kinks – Lola

THE WHO – I Can See For Miles

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb

David Bowie- Space Oddity

Poppy Family – Where Evil Grows

Bobbie Gentry – Ode To Billie Joe

Duran Duran – Hungry Like The Wolf

The Toadies – Possum Kingdom

Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug

Radiohead – Wolf at the Door

Oh – I could go on, but these songs get me going like nobody’s business. I could get lost in these songs and forget to eat. I have listened to each of these songs minimum 20 times on repeat. When I get in a certain mood I don’t want the momentum to stop and I have to keep whipping myself into a frenzy to maintain the high. These songs put me in the perfect storm mental state. They elevate me, give me clarity, and a platform to create like none other.
